City of New London Parking Commission
By a Special Act of the General Assembly, 1951 Session, there was established "The Parking Commission of the City of New London." The Commission consists of the Mayor, and the five (5) members who are appointed by the Council for five yer terms. The Chief Executive Officer of the Commission is the City Manager. The Commission has the power in the name of the CIty to create, establish, lease, construct, maintain, operate and acquire property for off street parking facilities consisting of surface parking lots and parking garages. This authority includes the ability to establish and collect reasonable fees for parking motor vehicles in city parking facilities. The Office of Development and Planning provides technical assistance and acts as the Commission's staff.
