The purpose of this program is to provide a comprehensive approach to the rehabilitation and stabilization of New London's neighborhoods. The mission is to preserve and strengthen the physical and social aspects of New London's neighborhoods. Techniques to accomplish this mission include ridding neighborhoods of abandoned and deteriorated building, placing vacant and overgrown lots to better use for the neighborhood they are in and improving substandard housing.
Neighborhood Preservation and Development
Providing for infrastructure improvements, fostering the development of neighborhood associations, developing relationships with neighborhood residents, business owners, and property owners, as well as identifying and addressing neighbor concerns. Code Enforcement
Targeting specific geographic areas and involving the residents of the neighborhood in need of improvements will address problematic properties and areas of concern. Another component of the program involves the disposition of City owned property that has been acquired through tax foreclosure. For more information contact Kirk Kripas at 447-5265.
