NOW RECRUITING! 

 PARKING BAN IN EFFECT - PLEASE READ

Due to the potential for a significant snowfall in southeastern Connecticut, the City of New London Police Department will declare a winter parking ban until the cessation of plowing operations.  At this time, and based upon current weather prediction models, we are unable to determine exactly when the parking ban will begin.  Nevertheless, the Police Department would like the residents of New London to be fully informed as far in advance as possible.  The conditions of the parking ban are as follows:
o    NO PARKING on any streets in the downtown area
o    NO PARKING on narrow streets
o    Where parking is permitted on only one side of the street, follow 
      posted regulations
o    Where parking is permitted on both sides of the street, park on 
      the ODD side of the street.
The City of New London is cognizant of the fact that parking bans are necessary for the public's safety but nonetheless are an inconvenience for downtown residents.  The City does offer the following accommodations to New London residents effected by the parking ban:
o    FREE PARKING in the Water Street Parking Garage during the duration 
    of the parking lot
o    FREE PARKING in the downtown municipal lots during the duration of 
    the parking ban
