Click it or Ticket Campaign
May 21 - June 3
With the Memorial Day weekend quickly approaching, Connecticut’s law enforcement agencies intend to promote safe driving and increase the safety and protection of all motorists on our highways. Regular seat belt use is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes. However, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration studies show that nearly one out of five Americans still fail to wear a seat belt when driving or riding in a motor vehicle. New London Police are urging everyone to buckle up! Beginning Monday, May 21, the New London Police Department is joining other law enforcement agencies by partaking in the national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaign. NLPD will be stepping-up enforcement from May 21 through June 3. Officers will be ticketing unbelted motorists around the clock—night and day. We want everyone to have a safe summer, but it requires an important step on the part of motorists – clicking that seat belt.
