Dirt Bike / ATV Ordinance

It is now illegal to ride any unregistered ATV, dirt bike, pocket bike or mini bike on city streets, public parks, or any public land in New London.  If you are caught, your bike will be seized and destroyed and you will receive up to a $2,000 fine.

DUI Enforcement Grant

12/15/17 - 8/31/18

The New London Police Department, in conjuction with area law enforcement agencies, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Water Street in New London on Friday, May 25, 2018.  This operation will focus on both drug and alcohol-related impaired driving and is being supported by the Connecicut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Grant program.  The grant also incorportates roving patrols targeting impaired and unsafe drivers. This event symbolizes the commitment of NLPD towards improving public safety, reducing the number of DUI incidents and decreasing the number of alcohol-related traffic collisions and fatalities.  Please contact the NLPD Traffic Unit for further questions regarding this and further DUI enforcement operations: 860-447-5280.
